About

I am a Technical Advisor for Tobacco Control Programs at the CDC Foundation. Previously I have worked at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a Health Scientist and at the SC Department of Public Health as a State Health Officer.

In addition to my work in the private and NGO sectors, I have worked in and around public health at every level of government including city, county, state, and federal. My research interests include tobacco control and prevention, addiction science, public health law, and public health ethics.

I studied Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior at the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health, and was a Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) Scholar - https://cpcrn.org/. I received my Master of Science in Environmental Health Science from the Arnold School, and my Bachelor of Science in Public Health (emphasis in Environmental/Occupational Health) at Brigham Young University.

I'm concerned with improving the health of all people by advocating for ethically informed public health policy. I love my family, my faith, and helping people live longer and better.
